As part of the journey of preparation for the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Capuchin Reform (1528–2028), the Maltese Capuchin Province organised a Capuchin pilgrimage from 30 June to 8 July 2026.
Joining our Provincial Minister were six other friars and eight lay collaborators. For six days, the pilgrims visited various places in the Marche region of central Italy that are closely linked with the history of the birth of our Order, including Camerino, Albacina, Fossombrone, Fabriano, Cingoli, and others. Particularly significant was the final day of the pilgrimage, spent in Assisi, especially the visit to the tomb of Saint Francis, on the occasion of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the death of our Founder (1226–2026).
