VOCATION

Is God calling you to become a Capuchin?

God still calls. All around the world we hear of young people who dedicate their lives to God and his people, responding to a personal call. Is God calling you? How can you know? For some, the call might manifest as a desire to help the poor, while others may feel drawn to life in fraternity. Some might experience a deep interior void, while others are filled with joy at the thought of consecrating their life to God. Some are deeply drawn to the joy and simplicity of Francis, while others are attracted to one of his followers. Recognising the call is deeply personal and unique to each individual.

If this is the case, the next step is to speak to someone – usually the vocations director – to begin a process of discernment, a journey that will help you understand God’s call for you.

Come and See

Any male between the ages of 18 and 35 can come to experience the Capuchin life with the intention of discerning one’s calling. These live-ins help the person to not only hear and learn about the Capuchin life and spirituality but to be able to experience what the Capuchin life feels like. Such experiences can serve as opportunities for the candidate to consider one’s feelings and emotions. These experiences take place in the friary in Kalkara.
